Issue 42 | Spring 2024
We are currently in the height of the State Association shows. It is important that you communicate with your states and support their events. These are critical to your success with the NGAUS General Conference in August in Detroit.
In March, I attended the General Conference Council (GCC) meeting at the NGAUS Headquarters, there is a lot of excitement for the 2024 General Conference. During the meeting we discussed details of the 2024 General Conference and received updates on the 2025 General Conference in Milwaukee. Some of the topics of discussion included expansion of the Minuteman Stage, increasing experiences in the exhibit hall to attract more attendees, the positive impacts on attendance from the free and reduced registration fees, and transforming and shaping the conference in the future.
Both Detroit and Milwaukee have done a great job with coordination and planning for the conference. Continue to reference https://www.ngaus.org/events/146th-general-conference-exhibition for current timelines, hotels and agendas. If you are exhibiting at ENGAUS General Conference the week before NGAUS General Conference make sure you work with your ENGAUS and NGAUS team to ensure all coordination is made to ensure a seamless transfer between both events. The two organizations have done a great job reaching out to most the industry partners that this could effect but if you have not been contacted reach out to the appropriate POCs for those events. I will be attending multiple meeting in coordination leading up to the General Conference if you have any questions please contact the below to help your experience while attending the event.
Finally, the National Guard Bureau announced the FY24 ARNG Modernization Equipping Requirements Conference 1-2 May 2024 in Leesburg, VA. The Operations & Logistics Officers from the States, Territories, and District of Columbia and the ARNG/NGB Portfolio Managers will evaluate equipment capability gaps at this conference. Validated capability gaps will become candidates for procurement using National Guard and Reserve Equipment Account (NGREA) Appropriation Funds. Vendors desiring to display products and capabilities are invited on 1-2 May 2024, on a first-come, first-served basis. Please feel free to reach out to Blaise Lemke at blaise.lemke@ngaus.org for more details. He will point you to the right direction!
