Many national or regional chain restaurants are offering free or discounted meals to veterans and current service members on the traditional (Nov. 11) or observed (Nov. 12) Veterans Day, or both.
Below is a list of some of the offers. The eligibility is verbatim from company press releases. Many use the term “active duty” when they really mean, “actively serving.” NGAUS called a few and found that to be case. Their offers do not exclude National Guardsmen or Reservists.
Some of the free meals are from a limited menu. Most establishments require some proof of service, such as an ID card.
Not all franchise locations participate in their national chain's programs. It’s a good idea to contact your nearest establishment to make sure they are participating.
