Ray Magill, who served on the NGAUS board of directors as the retired/separated Air representative from 1995 until 2010, died July 24 in North Falmouth, Massachusetts. He was 88. Burial was last week in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.

He was also a longtime member and board member of the National Guard Association of Massachusetts.

Magill spent 33 years in the Massachusetts Air National Guard, retiring in 1985 as a colonel in the 102nd Fighter Interceptor Wing. He worked as an investigator for the Defense Department for 23 years.

No NGAUS member knew the by-laws and parliamentary rules as well as Magill. He served on the NGAUS By-Laws Committee and was the parliamentarian of the association’s conference, insisting the Roberts Rules of Order be followed for both associations to which he belonged.

He received the NGAUS Distinguished Service Medal in 2010 at the conference in Austin, Texas.
