The Issue
The Army National Guard is an operational force that consistently deploys in support of overseas combat operations performing the same missions as the Active Component and provides domestic emergency response. Yet, it is not equipped in the same manner.
Accomplishment
- Fiscal Year 2021 Department of Defense appropriations legislation provides $884.4 million for Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) for the Army consistent with FY21 budget request, which included 512 JLTVs for the Army National Guard
