The National Guard Bureau chief has signed a memo authorizing each state and territory to send a small number of company-grade and junior warrant officers to the 141st General Conference & Exhibition, Aug. 30-Sept. 2 in Denver for professional development. A copy of the memo is available here.

Gen. Joseph L. Lengyel is the 28th chief of the National Guard Bureau. In that role, he is a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and serves as a military advisor to the president and a link to states on matters pertaining to the National Guard.
Gen. James C. McConville was sworn in as the 40th chief of staff for the U.S. Army on Aug. 9. An aviator, he has previously commanded the 101st Airborne Division and most recently was vice chief of staff of the Army.
Gen. Stephen W. Wilson is vice chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force. He presides over the Air Staff and serves on the Joint Chiefs of Staff Requirements Oversight Council and Deputy Advisory Working Group.
Gen. John M. Murray is the commanding general of U.S. Army Futures Command. The command was created in 2018 to oversee the Army’s modernization efforts. It’s six priorities include long-range precision fires, next-generation combat vehicles, future vertical lift, a mobile and expeditionary network, air and missile defense, and soldier lethality.
Maj. Gen. Allen M. Harrell is assistant deputy commanding general for National Guard affairs at U.S. Army Materiel Command. He was previously the deputy commander of the 167th Theater Sustainment Command of the Alabama National Guard and served as director of the Joint Staff for the Joint Force Headquarters in Alabama.
Lt. Gen. L. Scott Rice is the director of the Air National Guard, overseeing all policies, plans and programs affecting more than 105,500 Air Guardsmen and civilians. He previously served as adjutant general of the Massachusetts National Guard.
Lt. Gen. Daniel R. Hokanson is director of the Army National Guard, overseeing all policies, plans and programs affecting the nearly 350,000 Army Guardsmen. He previously served as vice chief of the National Guard Bureau and is the former adjutant general of Oregon.
