Nominate Someone

Do you work with someone possessing a long record of outstanding military service? Has your elected representative been a strong Guard supporter? Do you know of a Guardsman who has performed a life-saving act?

If so, they are potential candidates for NGAUS recognition.

Every year, the association accepts nominations for the NGAUS Awards Program. Nominees should be people who have demonstrated superior performance, committed acts of heroism, or have contributed significantly to the Guard effectiveness.

A letter is sent to each state headquarters and Guard association with complete awards program information, including purpose & procedures, eligibility and criteria. A nomination form is available here.

Nominations are accepted March through May 15. A five-person committee will review the nominations and make recommendations to the NGAUS Board of Directors, which has final approval.

Recipients are announced in July. Awards are presented at the annual NGAUS General Conference.
